Tim Lincecum could
not find form today as he lasted seven innings, giving up seven hits, six
earned runs and a home run as the San Francisco Giants lost to the Colorado
Rockies 10 – 2.
Defense was
another key issues as the Giants made three errors today to the Rockies'
zero.
The "Baseball
Gods" were with the Rockies today, with a prime example of their catcher,
Willin Rosario being crossed up by starter, Tyler Chatwood. The ball skipped under Rosarios' legs and
took a fortunate bounce right back to him as he spun around and threw Buster
Posey out at third by several feet. The Rockies
also scored twice off infield hits and were fortunate the Giants made three
errors.
Defense and
pitching need to be a priority as the Giants will square off against better teams in the
upcoming weeks. The final matchup is
tomorrow at 1:05 as Barry Zito takes on Juan Niscasio.
