Cuddyer Steals the Show as Rockies Beat Giants 5-0

The 34-year-old Michael Cuddyer is playing the best baseball of his career. After being activated off of the DL, Cuddyer put together a hitting masterpiece.
Cuddyer homered and doubled in Friday night’s game to give the Colorado Rockies  5-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants.
The Giants sent out their former ace, Tim Lincecum, who is looking to find his form that won him two Cy Young awards.
The first inning started terribly for Lincecum, as the recently activated Michael Cuddyer doubled to deep right scoring Nolan Arenado and Carlos Gonzalez.
After putting together strong second and third innings, Tim Lincecum struck out Cuddyer in the fourth, but Cuddyer advanced to first on the wild pitch third strike. Rockie second baseman DJ LeMahieu singled scoring Cuddyer to cap an unlikely rally.
In the sixth inning, Cuddyer homered, and in the eighth inning Gonzalez hit the ball over the fence.
The Giants only scoring chance was when Buster Posey singled and stole second base in the ninth inning.
Tim Lincecum gave up four earned runs in seven innings, which is a positive sign for the Giants starter. Lincecum was able to eat up innings in order to save the bullpen, and it also appears as if he has the arm strength to go deep into games now.
Despite the improvement for Lincecum, Michael Cuddyer and the National League West leading Rockies stole the night.
